Rise to the Top
May's book will be High-Rise by JG Ballard. This book, originally published in the 1970s, presents a futuristic dystopia that seems very modern, yet very 70s. Bizarre and dark, but strangely comedic and compelling, High-Rise tells the stories of the residents of a self-contained apartment building as they become more and more cut off from the world outside.
Here's an article on some of Ballard's inspiration
The trailer for the upcoming film starring Tom Hiddleston is here.
