Book first, then movie

December's book will be In the Heart of the Sea by Nathaniel Philbrick. This book tells the true story of the Natucket whaleship Essex and their disastrous encounter with a sperm whale that served as the inspiration for Moby Dick. A great non-fiction book that reads like an adventure story.

A film version of the book is being released in December as well, starring Chris Hemsworth, Brendan Gleeson, and Cillian Murphy, and directed by Ron Howard. Check it out on IMDb
