Happy Hump Day

Feel free to make suggestions about what books you'd like Get Lit to focus on at future meetings.

The library has also updated our movie license so we will be launching a new series of FREE movies. We will have access to way more films than we have in the past, including a lot more new releases, so we will try to offer a more varied movie experience, including some scary movies for Halloween.

We're listening to this sweet song about librarians

Also, if you come to Get Lit at the Barking Dog Ale House you can order this awesome cinnamon bun sundae!

Get Lit on GoodReads!

We now have our own group on GoodReads. Start sharing! Here

October is right around the corner...

We're excited for our first meeting in October. We have posted info about the event, well, everywhere. BUT it is now on HPL's event calendar, so if you think you want to come you can register there. Registration isn't binding by any means, but it will give us an idea of how many folks might be coming. Our goal is to make Get Lit very casual and fun, we will start each meeting around 7pm but people can come and go as they please. Each month will feature a specific book, but we will discuss other books, movies, TV, whatever people want to chat about. At October's meeting we will choose November's primary book.

This Monday morning we are listening to some classic ABBA, because who can ease you into another workweek better than the soothing tones of some Swedish songbirds?

Something wicked awesome this way comes...

Our inaugural meeting of the Get Lit book group will take place on Thursday October 10th @ 7pm. We will meet @ the Barking Dog Ale House, 77 Washington Street Haverhill, Ma.

October's book will be The Fallback Plan by Leigh Stein. This novel talks about the modern problem of perpetual adolescence and how to get your life going post college. "Smart, funny, and heartbreaking all at once." You can request this book through the HPL catalog link at left.

Can't make the meeting but still want to take part? We will post notes and discussion here on the blog!
